Opis Collatz Conjecture
The Collatz conjecture states that, no matter which positive whole number you start with, that you will eventually get to 1 by following a simple process:
- If a number is odd, multiply it by 3 and add 1.
- If a number is even, divide it by 2.
In this app you can test out different values to see how much they increase or decrease before getting down to 1.
As well as being able to see every step of the process, you can also see extra information, such as the maximum value reached, and the number of times in the process you divided by 2, and more.
